7 Tips On How To Generate Blog Traffic

Isn't it pleasing to the eye looking at your stats and discover the number of followers who viewed your blog? Blogs are supposed to be seen by others, so better apply major revision if your stats are only showing your own page views. You can't just anticipate search engines to produce traffic. Bloggers must use blog marketing to make their blog stand out.

Don't get me wrong - search engines are powerful when it comes to bringing in traffic, but the work involved to that is an entire business altogether; there's a name for it: Search Engine Optimization (SEO). So search engines aside, there are many different ways to market a blog. What's the point of having a public blog when nobody knows about it, right? Here are guidelines to drive blog traffic.

1. Support online community activities. You can create interaction with fellow bloggers by joining blog networks. Through constant interaction with fellow bloggers, they support each links, share ideas and assist each other with blogging issues. Staying active in an online community gives your blog an edge to be seen always. Community members actively support each other on their blogs especially if they belong to the same genre.

2. Share your blog link to other social sites. Entice your readers to share your blog posts with them by creating a social sharing buttons. These buttons permit faster and more personal sharing experience for Twitter, Facebook and over 300 other social sites in just one click!

3. Set up your Facebook page. Link your blog to a Facebook page to enjoy more traffic. Most people log-in to Facebook on a daily basis. What is the probability of seeing your blog as often as possible? If you are already done setting up your facebook page, you can update your followers on new blog posts so that they will be aware of it and can habitually start to visit your blog.

4. Practice 'siggy'. A signature block, better known as 'siggy' is a block of text automatically inserted at the bottom of a letter. Even if it's uncalled for, I would still say that it's a vital tool to use for the popularity of your blog. Add a text link of your website in a siggy to get more visitors to your blog.

5. Create significant comments.

Make sure you give meaningful comments on fellow bloggers' blog posts. Do not forget to mention your blog address once you use their comment form. But don't just leave a link to your blog or write some random praise. The opinion of their readers are very precious to bloggers, so take time to read the entire post before you give feedback on the comment section. The owner of the blog and its followers would immediately discover the path to your blogsite.

6. Submit guest post. Volunteer to make an article for other blogs for you to be noticed. Guest posting is a very usual practice amongst bloggers to share popularity and produce more successful blogs. A write up that you do for another blog will be endorsed by the blog owner and will be read by its supporters. In turn, a link back to your blog will be visible, so readers are also directed to your own blog.

7. Promote, promote, promote. At the end of the day, self-promotion is what matters most. Be proud of the blog that you have and share it as much as you can - on conversations, on Twitter, even on the radio. Others even include their blog address on a calling card! Make some cyber noise and let others know about your blog.

Increasing blog traffic takes a little bit of effort, but in the end, it will all be worth it because you know your blog would be the talk-of-the-town!
